Led by Laura Nicolescu,
Operation QuanTâm Quest was a huge success!
QuanTâm is partnering with Cradles to Crayons for a second year in a row to help low income and homeless children. On December 1, 2018, QuanTâm members descended upon my house to drop off donations they have been collecting since September. My garage was filled with winter coats, diapers, clothes, toys, books, boots and much more.
The tradition is, after neatly stacking donations in the garage, everyone comes inside for Phở and fun. This year we had a nice mix of alumni (class of ‘15, ‘16, & ‘17) as well as students graduating in Dec. ‘18 and May ‘19. Everyone got in on some foosball, NBA 2K, Madden, Mario Cart, roasting S’mores, and … wait for it…. finger knitting (led by Team Leader Laura Nicolescu).
On Dec. 3rd, Schlep handled all donations with great care and delivered everything to “The Giving Factory” at Cradles to Crayons.
The official final count by Cradles to Crayons? A record 212 bags full of like-new essentials!
The team I fielded this year was smaller—just 13 students, compared to last year’s 20— and I was not nearly as hands on this time, yet they broke last year’s record!
This team continues to teach me more than I could ever teach them.
